Chris Allicock's career started over 40 years ago working as a publicist for record companies RCA and WEA (Warner/Electra/Atlantic). Chris had the opportunity to promote some of the biggest recording acts in the world including Elvis Presley, Hall and Oates, Bob Marley, AC/DC, Robert Palmer and Rod Stewart.

After his stint at WEA Chris started Amberlight Productions and the Music Brokers Inc, Canada’s largest independent music marketing and promotion firm. From 1985-1990 the Music Brokers helped launch the careers of Canadian acts like Blue Rodeo, Rita McNeil, Roch Voisine and international acts like the Gipsy Kings.

In the early 90’s Chris had the opportunity as the Director of Marketing/Promotion and Operations to rebrand CING-FM in Burlington Ontario to become Canada’s first Urban radio station DANCE108/Energy 108 and was responsible for helping the station’s ratings grow from 68,000 to 634,000 listeners in just 3 years (1991-1994).

In 1995 Chris and his wife Jane Hawtin, moved into television production and created a series of award winning TV shows produced by their new company Electric Entertainment. Shows produced, branded and publicized included Jane Hawtin Live (WIC, WTN), Linehan (with Brain Linehan - WTN), Prime Business with Deirdre McMurdy (Prime/Global), Caregiving with June Callwood (WTN), Road Scholars (YTV), The Second City’s 25th Anniversary Show (CBC) and the Gavin Crawford Show (Comedy Network). Amberlight also produced season 4 of Road Scholars (6 episodes), Inuit Adventure Africa (60 minute special) and The Link (65 episodes) programs for APTN and developed companion web sites to cater to that youth audience.

Amberlight Productions has also worked with the Toronto chapter of The Second City Comedy Troupe as Director of Publicity/Advertising – 1997-2004
